Well, she is popularly called the Orintal White Eye [ Zosterops palpebrosus]. I found her near the butterfly park adjacent to Bannerghatta national Park Zoo. The scientific name derived from the Ancient Greek for girdle-eye, around the eyes of many species is a conspicuous white ring. A beautiful bird but very difficult to photograph as they hardly sit still. In three minutes I guess I took more than 70 pics !

In this series I will be exploring some markets of Bangalore. 1st among these is the H.A.L Ffruits & Vegetable market. All the shots are taken with consent of the sellers of the market. No one stopped me from taking shots and moreover they show enough courtesy and helped me in each shots very effectively

5. The Unloder

6. The Gymnast

H.A.L market sellers were very happy as I kept on taking their photographs. Had I shopped , I would have got huge discounts that day. They also wanted to share their lifestyle , day 2 day activities with me. Hence this was the result on the closing sequence of my entire shoot. One enthusiastic guy came and asked me to take snaps of his acrobatics. This might not be a perfect coffee table book shot, but I wanted to share this with all of you as it depicts the Bangalore H.A.L market mood very naturally.

At 6980 ft above the sea level, Chembra Peak is the highest point in the Wayanad Hills,Kerala. It takes a whole day trek to the peak (24 Km) from Meppadi, near Kalpetta, and the trail is invariably wet and slippery, fed as it is by the incessant rain that feeds the perenial lake(pic below) at the top of the peak
| The trek begins … |
| Almost after a year I was trekking. First 15 mins my lungs kept telling me “Amit….Quit Smoking“ |
It was steep, very steep, hot & humid. May seems to be a wrong time fro this trek
I started clicking after thinking this is gonna my last trek …I was carrying my tripod also !
Scorching heat took our breath away
We passed through lush green valley of Chembra
Atlast some clouds … cooled our body mind n soul.
Then suddenly I turned and seen the valley back
Can you see the tiny white dots … from there we started walking from there !!
Amazing huh ?
At last we can see her … the final destination “Chembra Peak”
And the beautiful natural lake.
Bit we have finished our stock water…cant touch the peak
have to go down, to civilization.
Mother nature is harsh & beautiful, loves and hates, lots of water …but we can’t drink
We can’t do any harm to nature … she is too tough for mankind to damage.
We don’t protect her, we protect ourselves from her.
Good Bye Chembra peak…
might touch you some other day
